CREATING A BETTER TOMORROW, TOGETHER.
We are committed to leaving buildings and communities better than we found them. We achieve this by connecting our specialist expertise with transparent climate action, meaningful reconciliation and a culture of care that strengthens our industry and the local Western Australian community.
OUR CARBON NEUTRAL JOURNEY
THE STRATEGY
As part of our Environmental Strategy, we are transitioning to a sustainable business model backed by reporting and targeted reduction strategies.
Central to this effort is a comprehensive carbon footprint assessment of Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions that we completed with Carbon Neutral in 2024. This report established a verified baseline for future reduction targets and allows us to lead with delivery-based insight.
REDUCING OUR FOOTPRINT
We are transforming our operations through proven systems that address the following specific high-impact areas:
- With transport diesel accounting for 76% of our Scope One emissions, we are transitioning to energy-efficient equipment and electric vehicles and hybrid machinery.
- As 69% of our Scope Three emissions come from purchased goods and services, we prioritise sourcing materials locally to reduce freight impact and opt for low-emission products.
- 26 tonnes of emissions were avoided in 2023 alone through our paper and cardboard recycling initiatives.
- Focusing on redeveloping brownfield sites and repurposing buildings, which reduces embodied carbon construction waste.
REFLECT
RECONCILIATION
ACTION PLAN
We are proud to have launched our Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), a significant milestone in our commitment to strengthening relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses and people.
Endorsed by Reconciliation Australia, our RAP enables our employees and partners to actively engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and histories.
This plan will serve as a roadmap for building relationships and achieving a reconciled Australia. We are deeply invested in the impact of the RAP on the economy, our organisation and society holistically.
It will guide us in fostering an inclusive workplace while exploring opportunities throughout all stages of procurement, employment and community connection.
OUR RAP OBJECTIVES
Some key targets within our Reflect RAP include:
- Scaling First Nation business and procurement opportunities.
- Deepening understanding and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.
- Nuturing relationships with First Nation communities where we live and work.
- Leaving a positive social impact.
STRENGTH IN LAYERS
The RAP journey is represented by our artwork, ‘Strength in Layers’ by Jarnda Councillor-Barns. Her piece reflects our mission and company fundamentals: to leave buildings, relationships and communities better than we found them.
MATES IN CONSTRUCTION
Kilmore Group stands firmly behind MATES, a vital organisation working to improve mental health awareness and reduce the prevalence of suicide within the construction industry.
We actively integrate their programs by training our employees with essential mental health information and providing the support and resources for early intervention. We create a safe space for open communication, encouraging a culture of care from our team and subcontractors.
Our team regularly completes certified MATES Awareness, Connector and ASIST training and supports the organisation through events and fundraising initiatives.
OUR COMMUNITY
EMPLOYEE WELL-BEING
Employees are our greatest asset, and that’s why we partnered with Pace National, an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) that provides confidential support services to our entire team.
Through Pace, employees have free access to professional specialists who can assist with personal or work-related issues. By investing in our people, we ensure a stable, focused, and resilient workforce dedicated to delivering high-quality construction solutions.
WOMEN IN CONSTRUCTION
As active members of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC), we champion the vital role women have in shaping the future of our industry. We participate in NAWIC events and mentorship programs and encourage women to pursue rewarding careers in construction.
Through fair and inclusive hiring practices that attract and advance talented women, we provide opportunities for women to thrive, lead and reach their full potential.
SUPPORTING LOCAL
We believe that the strength of our business is tied to the well-being of the communities in which we operate. By investing in local grassroots organisations, we support the social fabric of the areas where we work and enable families and individuals to thrive.
Our commitment to the community also extends to healthcare initiatives. We recently supported the Perth Children’s Hospital Foundation through their #RingTheBell campaign. This contribution helps provide vital research and equipment for children undergoing cancer treatment, supporting a future where more Western Australian families can celebrate the milestone of health and recovery.
