Project Overview

Kilmore Group were engaged to undertake a full refurbishment of the heritage listed building, ahead of its new use as a suburban study hub. The works include the safe removal of identified friable and non-friable asbestos, internal demolition and fit-out of new study spaces, meeting rooms, offices, breakout areas, kitchen facilities and accessible amenities.

The site on Jull Street was formerly the City of Armadale’s shire offices, which opened in 1967.  The design and history of the building reflect the significant growth of local government in the area and the evolution of Armadale into a metropolitan regional centre. Due to this history, the building has been heritage listed.

Kilmore Group worked with the City to refurbish the space into a Suburban University Study Hub. This new space is now being provided free of charge to local University and VET/TAFE students. It offers a supportive environment for pursuing higher education and for students to focus on their studies in a location closer to home. This will reduce the distance to travel for local students and minimise the barriers to completing further education.

The 468m2 internal floorspace underwent extensive refurbishment and upgrades before being fitted out with high-quality fixtures and finishes.
